Weed & Mosquito

Protect yourself from Dusk to Dawn

That is when mosquitoes that carry the virus are most active, so take precautions to prevent mosquito bites.

Use Repellent with DEET

Use mosquito repellents that contain DEET when doing any outdoor activity. (Follow the label instructions carefully.
For Adults, use repellents containing DEET at 30-35% concentration. For children 2-12, use repellents containing 10% or less DEET. Do not use on children under the age of 2.

Remove Standing Water
Drain standing water, since that’s were mosquitoes lay eggs. This includes tires, cans puddles, barrels, field run-off, overgrown drainage ditches, and all stagnant water.

Emery County in 2003 had 8 infected horses with a 50% mortality rate!!! West Nile Virus was County wide. Trends as the virus has moved west is that the virus is 10 times worse the second year.  We are working hard to reduce the risk, the best way to be protected is to protect yourself.
